Eminem To Appear At 2009 MTV VMAs + 50 Cent has been Added to the Lineup

After making headlines with his past performances, Eminem is set to return to the MTV Video Music Awards. The controversial rapper has been added to the 2009 lineup, along with other A-listers.
Eminem will make a special appearance during the 26th annual VMAs, airing live Sunday at 9 p.m. EST. Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, 50 Cent, and Justin Bieber also join Em at Radio City Music Hall, along with previously announced presenters Ne-Yo, Nelly Furtado, and Katy Perry.
Additionally, MTV has confirmed that Alicia Keys will be by Jay-Z’s side to sing “Empire State of Mind” from The Blueprint 3. Janet Jackson will honor her late brother, while BeyoncĂ©, Lady Gaga, Pink, Wale, Kid Cudi, and Pitbull round out the list of performers.
50 Cent Changes His Name
Diddy isn’t the only hip hop superstar who believes in changing his name. It looks like 50 cent no longer wants to be referred to by his stage name.The G-Unit General posted a mysterious message on his Twitter page saying: "50 Cent is a person I created, soon it will be time to destroy him and become somebody else.
"The rapper says he wants to be called by his real name, Curtis Jackson.
Jackson no longer wants his troubled history to be the only thing associated with his career.
He took the moniker 50 Cent from infamous Brooklyn armed robber Kelvin "50 Cent" Martin.

Jay-Z “Disheartened” With Scalpers, Tix for 9-11 Benefit Reach Unforeseeable Highs
Tickets sold out for Jay-Z’s 9-11 benefit concert yesterday (September 8) in 15 minutes, as scalpers scooped up large amounts of seats to resell for profit, according to the New York Daily News.As XXLMag.com previously reported, proceeds from the show, titled “Answer the Call,” are going to the New York Police and Fire Widows and Children’s Benefit Fund. Close to 20,000 tickets were purposely set low at $54.50 a pop for the Madison Square Garden event, but scalped tickets are already showing up online for upwards of $45,000.“We are truly disheartened that certain individuals would choose to benefit from what is meant to be a 100% charitable event,” Jay said in a statement.
“We do not support any profits made from reselling any ticket that was meant to be purchased by honest fans.”

Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne leads Jay-Z and Kanye West in tour profits for 2008to 2009. He has reportedly raked in over $42 million. Details on Wayne's tour revenue was publicly released Tuesday. (78) Lil Wayne headlining arena and amphitheater concerts in North America from Dec. 14, 2008, through Sept. 6, 2009, grossed approximately $42 million and drew nearly 804,000 fans, according to Lil Wayne tour producer and tour business manager Shawn Gee. The second highest-grossing rap tour that Billboard has tracked was Jay-Z's 2008 jaunt with Mary J. Blige, which grossed $34.6 million and drew 310,694 concertgoers to 28 shows, according to Billboard Boxscore. Kanye West's 2008 Glow In the Dark tour comes in third, having pulled in $30.8 million from 49 concerts that attracted 507,853 fans.
